Actg. Asst. Adjt. Genl.

Genl,
I have the honor to report in the case, of Edw'd. Long which has been pending in the District Court for some time past, that there was a hearing on the motion for a new trial and the setting aside the verdict, and the judge decided not to set the verdict aside. His friends propose, to petition the Governor to pardon him.

I am Genl.
Very Respectfully
