I have the honor to inform you that as advertised we held sale of property at City Point this day

Owing to the small attendance it was deemed expedient to sell but a portion of that advertised, and that the least valuable

Some of the buildings brought a good price: others went low — generally a good sale — amount sold about $3000. Shall advertise the ballance for about three weeks hence

The wood cut and in the woods was all bought in by the owners of the land at a mere nominal price per cord for that on each mans farm. Inasmuch as this wood has all been applied for by them I deemed it expedient to let it go at enough 
over
