Dear Sir,
I am the owner of a Farm in James City County, some Eight miles below Williamsburg, and located on the West side of Skiff's Creek and James River. 

This property was seized by the U.S Authorities some years since as "Abandoned Land" and is now in charge of the Bureau. 

I have received a Pardon from his Excellency Andrew Johnson President of the United States: to which is hereby Exhibited. And under its provisions Respectfully ask that an Order of Restoration may be issued, for the premises in question, as also for such movable property (including stock) as may be found in the possession of individuals without authority to retain it.
