3'  It is only as to the meat found at the home of the Prisoner that there is any fair presumption of Larceny, but if there had been Larceny of all the meat found at his house and it had been legitimate to find him guilty of this Larceny though from another person this would only have established Petit Larceny the value being under ($20-) a comparatively small offece subjecting the Prisoner to a much lighter punishment -

The Judge granted a respite of thirty days during which the prisoner will be kept in the County jail and his case heard in the Court of Appeals at Richmond. If any thing can be done to insure him a fair trial I think it should be done
