I was about Seventy five (75) yards from the house, when I heard two pistol shots in the course of ten (10) minutes. I went on to the house, and the Doctor asked me to help me to get her in the house. I went up to where she was lying down. Dr Perry examined her wound and said he was sorry he had shot her, that he did not intend to hit her, that he had merely shot a her to scare her, She said She did not believe he intended to shoot her, We then took her to the house, and fixed on a bed on the floor before the fire, I was there when George came home he was he was under the influence of Liquor. He came around in the chamber and saw his mother in distress and asked her what was the matter. She told him that the girl (Jane) had been slandering her and his sister, he then got up and went to the house where she was, and I knowing this girls disposition, I went with him, he went in and asked he wat she had said about his mother, she told him to go out of there she did not want
