was finally disbanded and one has been reported to me as having died since, There were no deaths from small pox on the voyage from Texas to City Point One man died from fever on the ship, but he had been put on board sick; however it was not small pox. The organization that is on its way to City Point is not from the same part of Texas, [[strikethrough]] one [[/strikethrough]] one was from Brazos Santiago and the other. from Ringold [[Ringgold] Barracks.

In regard to changing the place,- there is none other suitable, and as it has been designated by order of the Secretary of War as. the Rendezvous for troops mustered out, in Virginia,- I would suggest, that if anything should be removed, it should be the Freedman's Bureau, as City Point is a military reservation and held for Military purposes

In regard to the death of one of the men in Richmond,- I know nothing of it; but I cannot remember any order that prohibits a person from dying in any place he thinks proper-simply because he happens to be a mustered out man.
