Col,
I have the honor to state that I can obtain for the mill on the Eastern Shore belonging to the Bureau, $2,500 Twenty five hundred dollars. From the representations of the boiler maker who was sent there to repair the mill before [[strikethrough]] the mill [[/strikethrough]] it could be started, I think the boiler has sustained quite a serious injury [[strikethrough]] d [[/strikethrough]], enough to decrease its value considerably. Machinery of any kind second hand, is in the hands of private parties, only disposed of at a discount, which discount depends of course on the amount of injury the mill or machinery may have sustained, and as the price I am offered for this mill is but little less than the original cost (something less than $200 less than the cost) and [[strikethrough]] and [[/strikethrough]] as the mill is bringing little or no revenue
