States that the citizens of that place are determined to insult Govt. officers. A party of young men sang songs (rebel) a few nights ago. Gave cheers for Jeff Davis Jackson Lee & Johnson.

Respectfully forwarded for the information of Col. O. Brown, Assist Com'r at Richmond Va. with the additional intelligence that I have heard several times within the last few days from persons in this valley that "the next war will be worse than the last"  "It will be another fight soon"  "I wasn't in the last fight but I'm in for the next" and other such language showing the indisposition of these people to remain "loyal" and respect all laws of the United States
