The Magistrate then made a memorandum chargeing for his own attendance and for securing the witnesses (the witnesses did not ask for pay for attendance) and the Sheriffs fees for summoning the witnesses amounting to nearly ($5 00/100) Five Dollars, which the Freedman paid.  His employer giving the necessary Bond.  Comfort was discharged
