place (Capt S W Pray (lt vols) commanding and got an order for the horse which she took to her former home and which was then and there burned by her former mistress. Soon after her former mistress sold the horse to her son (The master refusing to have anything further to do in the premises) but no money has yet been paid. Some months after an unknown white man brought the horse in night time brought the horse to where the freewoman was then liveing and proposed to buy it of her. She declined selling [[strikethrough]] but told [[/strikethrough]] and he left the horse in her possession, Some days after finding she could not keep the horse where she was then liveing she sold it to a white man. The freewoman and the man to whom she sold are now under prosecution for receiving the horse knowing it to be stolen. Is not the US now the propper owner of the horse
