April 6/97.

Messrs. Dore Bre's,
666 Sixth Ave., New York.

Gentlemen:

Your two letters were duly received and should have been answered before but a pressure of other affairs prevented. I take pleasure in sending you by express to-day one copy of the photograph of the dinner given to Gen. Alger. The photograph is wretchedly bad and really should not have been published, but as you asked for a copy I am pleased to send it. I could not send you a cut of the Club House asked for, as it is contrary to Club House rules.

Yours truly,
Charles L Freer
