Dec. 1/96.

Mr. W. M. Wilson,
1411-1413 Fisher Building,
Chicago, Ill.

My dear Wilson:

Replying to your inquiry as to the cost of the 40 ton Erie ore car which was discussed last spring, I find after referring to estimates prepared at the time that the actual cost of the car would be, based on to-day’s values, about $725.00. This includes Fox steel truck frames at $135.00 each. Of course I give you these figures in strictest confidence.

What are you doing about material for the one steel car? Is old age getting the better of you? or are you losing confidence in the scheme?

Your personal letter sent to my house was received, and I thank you for the attention paid to my friends, also for the choice literature inclosed [enclosed] therein.

Yours very truly,
Charles L. Freer
Managing Director.
