March 11th, 1898.

Messrs. Dodd, Mead and Co.,
149-151 Fifth Avenue, New York City.

Gentlemen:-
I am in receipt of your favor of the 8th instant stating that you had previously notified me that my subscription to The Bookman had expired and had failed to hear from me respecting its renewal.

On February 22nd I sent you New York draft for $2.00 in renewal of my subscription for one year from March 1898 and for which I hold your receipt dated March 1st. I presume your letter of the 8th instant was an oversight.

Yours truly,
Charles L. Freer
Aikman
