July 27/98.

Mr. Edward S. Hill, Jr.,
31 Nassau St, New York.

Dear Sir:

I have your note of the 25th inst., and in reply beg to say that I had expected to have been in New York are this, but important matters have kept me at home. I now think that I shall be in your city next week and will advise you in advance of my arrival in order that an hour may be set for examining the Japanese art objects.

Yours very truly,
Charles L Freer
