March 24th, 1899.

Mr. W. B. Earnshaw,
Secretary The Dayton Malleable Iron Co.,
Dayton, Ohio.

My dear Sir:-

I yesterday received your kind favor of the 22nd instant addressed to Mr.C.L.Freer, stating that you were sending him asilver [[a silver]] pencil. The pencil arrived safely to-day and I beg to thank you very much for your courtesy. Mr.Freer is out of the city and probably will be for a week or so, but I have forwarded you letter to him and have advised him of the receipt of the delightful little pencil. On his return, I am sure he will not only appreciate your thoughtfulness but will find the pencil very serviceable.

Your last letter to Mr. Freer conveyed the information that Mr.Schenok was ill. We trust he has recovered are this.

Yours truly,
