Mr. T. W. Dewing,
Windsor, Vermont

Dear Dewing: -
I returned from the east at noon to-day and find a letter from J. W. Beatty, Director of the Carnegie Art Galleries, Pittsburgh, asking for your "Girl at the Piano" for their forthcoming exhibition. I have replied saying that if you no objection I will loan the picture and have advised Mr.Beatty to write you personally on the subject. I know that you have hate Beatty and his institution, but I am inclined to think it would be to your advantage to send a picture, especially considering all the circumstances. However, don't let me interfere with your own good judgement.

Excuse this typewritten note. I will write you again to-morrow on other matters.

Yours very truly,

CLF
