552 318 Detroit, Michigan, January 2nd,1900. Mr. D.W. Tryon, 226 West 59th St., New York City. Dear Tryon:- Mayor Maybury has just sent me the notes he promised to with concerning the history of Detroit and i enclose herewith a copy thereof. I have also sent one copy to Dewing and two to White. I am sending you enclosed the recent newspaper clippings, which you will see are somewhat mixed, but in a general way are about the right direction. Am leaving for Montreal at noon to-day to be absent two or three days. With best regards to both yourself and Mrs. Tryon, believe me, Sincerely yours, Charles L. Freer
