Mr. Cas. J. Morse,
Evansville, Ill.

My dear Mr. Morse:-
Since my earlier letter of this morning, I have received your telegram of even date, reading:

"Mrs. Morse and I regret very much we cannot accept your kind invitation."

I am very sorry, indeed, that you are not to be with me at the time named. Won't you, at your convenience, set a time when yourself and Mrs. Morse can conveniently arrange to come? I expect to be in Detroit practically all the balance of February, expecting the week beginning the 18th. inst... and all of March, excepting, perhaps, one week during that month, and, consequently, practically any appointment you may make will be very agreeable to me.

Hoping to have the pleasure of seeing you both erelong, I remain.

Faithfully yours,
Charles L. Freer
