Mr. Frederick H. Lee,
144 West 7th St.,
Erie, Pa.

My dear Mr. Lee:-

I have your courteous letter of the 28th instant, and beg to say that your little visit at my home gave me more pleasure then you know. My only regret is that I was not well enough to have shown you some attention, and to have had more people in to meet you. I hope you will come again some time when it will be possible to enjoy ourselves more. I shall take pleasure in delivering your message to Col. Hecker and his family.

I have spoken with Wheeler concerning your muffler, and he tells me that he put it in your overcoat pocket just before you were taking your final leave from my house. I am afraid it must have dropped out on your way down town. Sorry indeed I am that it is gone.

I have not yet recovered my health, so I am compelled to send you a typewritten letter.

With best wishes and hoping we may have the pleasure of meeting again ere long, I remain

Sincerely yours,
Charles L Freer
