Saml C White. Richmond Va March 18. 1865 Col Brown Comm'r of the F. Bureau Dr Sir I have made out the above account as near with your instructions as I can the above account I consider reasonable as it includes the Mill and a large orchard on the farm, which has been in the occupancy of the goverment for the last four years, during which time all my timber has been destroyed, houses gone, enclosures destroyed, and I should think at least 1000 yards of Fortifications thrown up on said farm. My very yard was taken for a slaughter pen for the army, and my farm grased by large quantity of stock for the Army. - I hope you will approve the account as I much need the money. Respectfully yours Saml C White.
