Capt. A.A.Q.M. & Supt 1st Dist. Va

Sir:
I am in receipt of Gen. A. H. Terry's Order forwarded by you this P.M. ordering me to report at Richmond on Tuesday next.
I would beg leave to state that as the order does not furnish me with transportation & as I am without means to purchase such it is impossible for me to comply therewith.
Notwithstanding it is my sincere desire as well as my duty to Comply with this order at this time I am pennyless the last day's work I done was for the Government in June last & I have not received as yet a single cent for it. My present Business is such that it pays me nothing until it is finally accomplished.
I would respectfully ask to be furnished with transportation.
an early reply is solicited
Very Resptly yours
Jos. R. Wilson
