General,

I have the honor to forward herewith for your approval and order to pay, the account of Professor Woodbury for services rendered as Superintendent of Schools. - It was expected that Prof. Woodbury would be paid for his services under General Shepley's order, by the different benevolent Societies of the North, but this was only partially done. - Please find copies of orders enclosed herewith. - I consider it but just and right that the account Should be paid.

Very Respectfully
