Know all men by these presents that we Zerrobabel C. Mason and George W. Mason are held & firmly bound unto the overseers of the poor of Accomac County in the full & just Sum of five hundred & ten dollars lawful money of the United States the payment whereof well & truly to be made to the Said overseer of the poor we bind ourselves our heirs Executers & administrators jointly & Severally firmly by these presents. Sealed with our Seals this 4th day of November 1859

The conditions of the above obligation is Such that wereas the County Court of Accomac County did on the 26th day of September 1859 make the following order. "That the Court do Consent that the overseers of the poor of the county bind Moses Beavens a free negro. orphan of Polly Beavens decd. who is this day Six years four months & 28 days old as an apprentice to Zerrobabel Mason until he arrives at the age of 21 years. to be taught farming. and the Court do direct that the Said Zerrobabel Mason pay to the
