I have the honor to state, that as A.A.Q.M., 5th Sub Dist. Va., I shall not need the services of Messrs. S. M. Babbitt, and E. W. Cody, of the office of Col. Whytal, late A.Q.M. of this Sub Dist., and to request that their names be dropped from the rolls. 

I would respectfully request the appointment of Mr. D. V. Pennington, of Boston, Mass., as Quarter Master's Clerk in my office, at $100.00 per month (the same as received by each of the above-named.) Both of my clerks are now fully employed, and I need the services
