abandoned by Genl [[strikethrough]] Stonemans [[/strikethrough]] Vaughn's men, when they were in the County of Montgomery in the month of April 1865. When they reported the horse to the Provost Marshall he turned the horse over to the said Mary Spangler and told her that the horse was hers and to take and keep it. This horse was of no value when Spangler took it and is the only horse he has had since that time, and has not now any other horse with which to raise a crop.
Given under my hand May 7th, 1866.
