General.

I have the honor to report that there has been but little change, in the sanitary condition of the freedman in the Dist. of Va. since June 30th 1867, the date of my last report. The mortality has in a slight degree lessened. Small Pox, disappeared in the month of June, and during July no form of epidemic disease has existed, In the general condition of Freedmen in the District, there appears to be a gradual but constant improvement in all sanitary respects, and ability to supply themselves with proper food and clothing. I present the following statement in regard to the sick and wounded, under care of the Bureau, Dist of Va. for the month of July.
