Bureau Refugees, Freedmen & Abandoned Lands Office Ass't Sup't Sub=Dist Westmorland & Richmond Co's. Va Warsaw, Richmond County Virginia January 28th 1867. Major James Johnson Superintendent &c 6th Dist Fredericksburg Va Major: I have the honor in connection with my report of the Shandy Hall riot, to furnish you with the following prosecutions made by the civil authorities of Richmond Co. of John Corbin (a negro) who acted a part in said riot: Some three weeks after the 12th of Dec. 1866, James C. Bryant a Constable of said County, swore out a warrant for the arrest of John Corbin on the ground that the said Corbin, did on the 12th day of Dec. 1866, draw a revolver on him Bryant, while in the discharge of his official duties.- making the arrest of William Veney a colored man.
