I have the honor to request leave of absence from this Post for Forty Eight hours for the purpose of visiting Richmond & Petersburg Va. on official business appertaining to Bureau & Registration affairs.

I forward this application direct by reason of the fact that I wish to be in Richmond on Friday to return to my Post on Saturday so as to be able to attend Cumberland Court on Monday and the application could not be returned in time were it sent through the proper channels. Please reply by telegram so I can leave in the train of tomorrow (Thursday)
