Counties are aware that they have got this class of persons to support &  hence have now made arrangements to do so.

The levy laid last year for the support of the poor was insufficient as the civil  authorities did not know that the indigent colored would be transferred to them as they were on the 1st day of October 1866.  hence there was a want of means before the year had expired.  The Counties of this Division have now, however, doubled the amount of their levy for the support of the poor, which will probably enable them to give all their paupers a suitable support.

As there were no colored persons supported by the Bureau in this Division on the 20th ult, there are none to be transferred to the Overseer of the Poor.
