William Jackson, colored, states, that on the evening of the 29th of June 1867, I come to a house in Alex'a. Co. don't know the place, never was there before, went with Charles Parker and John Williams and three women, did not know the womens names, had no trouble before we got to the house. Met Jim Becket just before we got to the house he was in a field quarrelling with a woman did not mix in this trouble, we all went on to the house, he was leaning on the table in the house, Chas. Parker was eating his supper at the table, a lady came up and said to Parker, "Did you pay for those three ladies that come with you? Parker said Yes! I paid for them.  Why?  woman and Parker quarreled, Parker gave money to Mahoney to give to the woman of the house to pay for the supper calling the woman laughingly a son of a b-h, the woman asked, "did you dare to come into my house, and call me a son of a b-h?  Parker replied, that is not calling you a son of a b-h, cause you isn't a son of a b-h, women went to the table and jerked up a glass to hit Parker, Mahoney caught hold of the womans hands behind her, and took the glass away from her.
