Evidence given to the Jury by Dr. D. Weisel examined.

I was called up about 1 o'clock this morning and found out in the vicinity of the fort the dead body of a colored man. On examining him I found a large wound in the breast probably made by a musket ball.  The ball entered over the 6th rib and passed directly through the body. This in my opinion, was the cause of his death, he having died any time during the night, He having died of internal Hemorrhage resulted by this wound,

Cross-examined by the Court, I suppose it was made by a Minnie ball, they carry more destruction.

I was at that party, the first I seen of it was just above the house on the edge of Mr. Veaches Corn and he started up, and I went up with him, ordered them to stop and he ordered them to stop the fuss and he Charles Parker called him (Mr.Veach) a damned white livered son of a bitch.
