the place for any other purpose to cut no trees from the lot enclosed around the house lot nor mill to prevent (pencil mark/as far as he can do so, persons from hauling riding or making roads through the bottom land below the mill or any other part of the premises to take good care of all the lumber boxes bands tools &c. left in and near the mill to fill up and mend the road in front of the mill to keep the bank south of the mill sufficiently high to prevent the water in time of freshet from running over against the mill during the time for which I have rented, to have the mill in complete order to manufacture good merchantable flour  by the first day of Jan. 1868 (strokes out with pencil) upon the plan proposed by the owner, the whole expense for putting the mill in order to make flour all the gearing now in the mill that can be made to answer by alteration or otherwise, to board all hands free of expense to the owner employed to repair the milldam waterwheel forebay &c. during the time for which I have rented to keep the water gates in good repair so as not ot waste water in dry seasons. [[left margin]] Stricken out with pencil mark [[/left margin]] The owner of the property reserves the right (which I grant) to dispossess me on sixty days notice for the failure to pay the rent during each year or for any violation of any part of this agreement and for any such violation I further agree to forfeit one years rent, in testimony whereof I herewith affix my hand and seal this first day of January 1867.
