I have the honor to request that a copy of the Constitution & By Laws of "The Lincoln Temperance Society" be forwarded to me
I desire to conform strictly to the movement as already inaugerated at Washington DC under your immediate direction.
I realize the importance of the organization of such a society & want to aid [[strikethrough]] in [[/strikethrough]] the course all I can - The blacks are now strongly opposed to such a measure but I think I shall be able to impress upon them the importance of taking the matter into serious consideration
I am Genl
Very Respectfully
