I trouble You again about my maters [[matters]] I hope You will bear with me as I am little acquainted in Washington I am very apt to trouble those ho [[who]] have been my Friend I wanted to know if the Sherifs [[Sheriffs]] have a right to Colect [[collect]] taxes for 1861 I thought Congress passed an Act that no taxes were to be Colected [[collected]] from the citizens by County or state oficers [[officers]] during the Rebelion our Sheriff is now colecting [[collecting]] for 1861 of those ho [[who]] did not pay before he ran South before the Army I think he is violating the laws of Congress, has any Apropriation [[appropriation]] been made
