There are nine families at the place within named

over

They live upon the land of Mr. Henry Doswell, and occupy his houses, paying him $25.00 a year for use of house and what land they wish to cultivate. The heads of most of these families are able bodied men - some of them are mechanics and can make an honest living for themselves and families, if they will work.

Faithful hands can always find employment in this county at rates varying from $8.00 to $10.00 per month, and from 50 cts to $1.25 per day & found. Two or three persons at this place will require some assistance, for which action has been taken. These cases have never heretofore been reported by any one either to this office or, to the civil authorities.-
