1st 1840 & duly recorded in said county, to him the said Carter B Poindexter his heirs forever to the said tracts pieces or parcels of land with all the buildings thereupon and with all and singular the appurtenances thereto belonging or in anywise appertaining to the said Nathan C Whitehead does & will by these presents warrant & defend against the claim or claims of all persons whatsoever

I Thomas Tatem a Notary Public in the city aforesaid in the state of Virginia do hereby certify that Nathan C Whitehead a party to a certain deed bearing date on the 30th day of January 1852 thereto annexed personally appeared before me in the city aforesaid and acknowledged the same to be his act & deed & desired me to certify the said acknowledgement to the Clerk of the County Court of Norfolk County in order that the said deed may be recorded
