National Freedmen's Savings and Trust Co.
Cor. Penna. Avenue and 19th St., Washington, D.C.
BRANCH OFFICE,
Norfolk, Va. June 8. 1867.

Maj. J. H. Remington.
Sub. Asst. Commissioner,
Bur. Ref. F. and A.L. 1st Dist. Va.

Major:
I have the honor to respectfully represent that the business of the Norfolk Branch of the Freedmen's Savings and Trust Co. is increasing to such an extent as to render the present office-room inadequate for its proper performance.

By direction of Maj. Gen. O. O. Howard, we have recently been constituted Assistant Disbursing Agents of the Bureau for the payment of all Bounties, Arrears of Pay, etc. due Colored Soldiers in this vicinity, - and this so materially adds to our regular business as to render more commodious rooms almost a necessity.

Believing that a change of office will greatly increase our local business, by giving better facilities, and will secure to our Bank more Depositors
