Joseph Horckey also of Chuckatuck testified that he saw the prisoners at the store in Chuckatuck the same night that the whipping occurred, and that they were under the influence of liquor;that they bought some articles and a quart of whiskey which they put in a canteen; that while Sandy Wooden and Richard Wooden were at the store, John Edmonds came in and Sandy told him (Edmond) to go with him that night as he had some important business for him to do to night, Edmond wanted to know what it was, and Sandy told him he would know soon enough; did not hear of the whipping until Monday; all three went away together in the direction of Sandy's house which is on the way of Hatchells house.

Andrew Holloway also Chuckatcuk testified that on Sunday he and a parcel of boys went down to the Creek to bathe, the next day after the injury was committed, when Sandy Wooden and John Edmonds came down and said they were going to a pear tree, and the little boys wanted to go with them, when they drove them back.
