I have the honor to return herewith the order for transportation in favor of Wm. Patterson, under the following circumstances.  Dr Jorgenson informed me verbally that the horse in question was a good one, and said nothing of any disability whatever.  Since I forwarded him the order to send the horse here, he writes me that the animal is footsore and has a very sore back and cannot stand the journey to Petersburg,
