General.

I have the honor to respectfully call your attention to Report and Affidavits thereto of services of employees under Capt. Tobey Asst Supt. at Petersburg; said vouchers were forwarded to you on the 17th of December, 1866. These men are importuning me in reference to the matter, and will doubtless go to the Secretary of War on the subject if not paid. Inasmuch as several hundred dollars have lately been paid in liquidation of claims of precisely a similar character, by order of the Asst. Commissioner, and the work was actually done by the claimants in good faith. I respectfully submit that neither in equity or justice can payment of these claims be refused.

I respectfully ask for the approval of the above mentioned report

Very Respty
