On Henrys side, altho' he seems to have been unwilling to loose this horse he seems to have acquiesced in his former Masters decision until he went before the Freedmens Court.

The foregoing statements are obtained from the records of this office; Conversations with Henry Walker (Col'd) and statements under oath of Mr Richard Walker and his son Thomas Walker.

Reports case of Freedmans Court deciding that a horse picked up by Henry Walker (Col'd) and brought to Mr Richard Walkers place, should be turned over to the former, which he (Richard Walker) failed to do.  

Subsequently the horse was delivered to Henry through one J.W. Kelly representing himself a a US soldier is now held for felony. Has turned the horse over to Henry until he receives instructions from higher authority as he denies the right of the Civil authorities to decide in regard to the horse
