The Asst. Commissioner directs me to say in reply to your communications of Oct. 26th 1866 and Feby. 19th 1866, that the following information has been received at these Head Quarters in relation to the cold. boys Alfred and John Jackson.
Alfred is living with Miss Dulaney in this city. John was sold to unknown parties in North Carolina about one week before the evacuation of Richmond Va. The former has learned through a cold. man that his brother expected to come to this city in a short time. Both the boys are well and anxious to return to their parents.
