I am directed by the Asst Commissioner to acknowledge the receipt of your communication dated June 19th enclosing papers connected applications for U.S. Bounty &c. - viz:

The application of Mary Hudson mother of Henderson Hickson, Private Co. "A" 2nd U.S. C. Inftry. has been forwarded to Washington-

The certificate of cohabitation; of Matilda √McGruder has been forwarded to Major Wm. √Fowler- The request for this certificate must have been made by Major Fowler direct to you, as we find no evidence of such a request on our Books.-

√Frank Skerter - papers returned - copy of letter dated 31st May enclosed-

√Gilby Twine - The certificate of √William Ward as to death of Anderson √Twine is returned enclosed- The papers in this case were returned to your office in letter of May 29th for above mentioned certificate, and have not since been received here.

We have as yet received no instructions in relation to the Act of Congress equalizing bounties - You had better retain all applications for U.S. Bounty, in case of men who enlisted previous to July 18th and who were not free April 19th 1861, until we receive instructions
