Luke Johnson states that I have been intimately acquainted with Edward Long for eight years. I was well acquainted with him and was with him nearly every day previous to his arrest. I was in partnership with Wm. Reid keeping a restaurant and employed Long a little over a year previous to his arrest. He did not own a horse during that time to my knowledge. I will not swear that he did not own a horse but I have no knowledge of his owning one. I know the horse that Palmer drive just previous to and at the time Long was arrested. This was a large dark chestnut mare. She had no white about her to my knowledge. I am positive she had no white in her face or on her feet. This mare
