satisfied the Court (Judge Underwood) that Thos. claim was just and right and he ordered the Confiscation proceedings to be dismissed upon condition that Wm. Williamson & wife convey to Thomas all their right title & interest in the property This deed was duly executed by Wm Williamson & wife & duly recorded in the Clerks Office of the Circuit Court of Norfolk in 1865 and the Confiscation proceedings were dismissed and possession of the property duly delivered to Thos. Williamson who had been in possession of the same ever since by his tenants. The Records of the U.S. Dist Court at Norfolk & the Deed on record as above stated will verify the foregoing statement. As the procuring of Certified Copies of the papers would be quite expensive I would respectfully suggest that if the foregoing statement is not deemed sufficient proof of title that you write the Clerks of the Courts above named for a statement as to whether the foregoing statement is correct or not
