no White man shall with impunity tempt upon those of their own.

As a general thing the Freedmen are at work for fair pay and labor is in good demand. Many of them are carrying on Land upon shares and their crops compare favorably with those of the White people.

They manifest a great desire to improve every opportunity for information and their leaving their labor to attend meetings for their instruction is very much opposed by their employers, and they are threatened with discharge from labor if they attend them, but I heard of no cases where such threats had been carried into execution.

I would respectfully call attention to the fact that there are quite a number of Union Soldiers buried in these counties whose Graves are fast being obliterated and soon no trace will
