made against the Whiteman for the same offence that was charged against the Colored man and he was convicted and sentenced to one days imprisonment in the County Jail, to which a part of the Jury that convicted him together with other citizens accompanied him and passed the time during his incarceration in Jail with him. Such is the manner in which justice is administered when Freedman or Refugees are concerned. I learn that the Freedman has since been pardoned by the executive of the state.

Lieut Busby is actively engaged in the duties of his office and rendering good service to the Freedmen; and carrying out the instructions of the Bureau in a faithful and creditable manner
