We then got the draft cashed and forwarded the money to Mr Brown, who informed us that Mr Williams was not in Norfolk having left, but would inform us on his return. We have held the money ever since. You will remember that some weeks since our Mr Wolf informed you that we held the money of a few colored claimants, and that we would cheerfully turn the same over to you whenever called upon, or whenever the parties were properly identified. We do so in this instance leaving it to you who is the proper claimant, that some one has made a wrong claim there can be no doubt, but fortunately no money has passed. We have the honor herewith to enclose our check for the Williams claim, less our fee, please forward to us receipt.
