Respectfully referred to Bvt. Maj. Geo. Q. White, Chief Q.M. and D.O.

C. G. McClelland late A.S.A.C. of my own personal knowledge at the time he reported to me for duty in the 6th. Division 6th. Sub. Dist. comprising the county of King George, owned a private horse, and I have seen him use his own private horse in the performance of his duty, as an Officer of the Bureau.

He occupied the room rented by the Bureau as an office for the 6th. Division aforesaid. I have been in said room several times, in which were Mr McClelland's desk and papers

Johnson S.A.C. from which it will be observed that Mr. McClelland furnished a private horse, which the Bureau foraged and that he occupied the room for which the Bureau paid rent as his office.
