Respectfully returned with the report that upon investigation I find that the within named George Drummond was a free person of color in the year 1857 living on land that he rented, the said Drummond failing to pay the rent due, a writ of attachment was levied out and placed in the hands of Erastus Wheatten Constable for Accomac County who levied upon all his property.

The Laws of Virginia at that time exempted certin articles from attatchment, George Drummond sued said Wheatten in the County Court and regained all the property attatched, then exempted by Law as is shown by the enclosed copy of the records now
